- In 1987, the first “Entertainment on the Plaza” season was launched, bringing a different performance each Friday evening through June, July and August. The event was held on the newly constructed Hancock County Courthouse Plaza, hence the series name.
Entertainment on the Plaza continues and each summer eight performances are held, free to the public, in downtown Greenfield, IN on the Hancock County Courthouse south lawn (located at the corner of US 40 and SR 9) and City of Greenfield Plaza (located on SR 9). Beginning the first Friday in June and continuing eight consecutive Fridays, the event draws over 12,000 people each summer.
